UCD started the game strong and it paid off after just the 1st minute when they took the lead through Julie Ann Russel. From then Kilkenny were on the back foot but they did manage to create a few chances. Great defending from both Leanne Tumelty and Cliodhna Ni Shi kept the score at 1:0. On the 34th minute UCD Waves made it 2:0 through Lauren Kelly. That didn’t stop Kilkenny and they still pressed. They managed to keep the score 2:0 at half time. Leanne Tumelty was replaced by Bethany Carroll at half time. This was paying off for a while but In the 46th minute UCD Waves made it 3:0 with a goal from Dearbháile Beirne. And then in the 54th minute Kilkenny born fai Womans player of the year winner Karen Duggan made it 4:0. Things got worse for Kilkenny when UCD Waves made it 5:0 in the 86th minute. That’s how it finished.
